As women, many of us are all too ready to immerse ourselves in the reality of our travel partner – whether it be our life partner or just a friend we’ve met along the way. And while this can be companionable and safe, perhaps even romantic and fun, it can sometimes take the edge off what might be a more growthful, more powerful experience of the place and ourselves in it.

Traveling alone can push us out of our comfort zone, compelling us to live a bit more in the present moment and connecting more intimately with the people and places around us.

Now, check out Janice’s ten reasons, and a thoroughly wonderful travel blog.
